Proviewer Privacy Policy
Proviewer is an iPhone and iPad file preview app. We respect user privacy and design the app so file import, preview, management, and export are handled locally on your device whenever possible.
Information We Collect
Proviewer does not require account registration and does not collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, or other information that directly identifies you.
Based on the current implementation, Proviewer does not collect data used to track users and does not link user data with third-party data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data Stored Locally
To provide core app functionality, Proviewer stores the following data locally on your device:
- Copies of files that you choose to import or send to Proviewer through the system share sheet.
- Recent file records, such as file name, file size, file type, import date, last opened date, and source description.
- Preview progress, such as reading position or audio/video playback position.
- App preferences, such as light mode, dark mode, or system appearance.
This data is stored in the app sandbox or App Group container. The App Group container is used to pass files that you intentionally share from the iOS share extension to the main app.
File Content Processing
Proviewer primarily reads and previews file content on your device, including PDF, Markdown, HTML, JSON, source code, plain text, images, audio, video, and document formats supported by iOS system preview components.
Unless you explicitly use system sharing, export, or another external service, Proviewer does not upload imported files or file content to our servers.
Network Access
Proviewer's core file preview features do not require an account server. The in-app HTML preview restricts external network navigation to prevent local HTML files from loading remote HTTP or HTTPS content.
When iOS system components such as QuickLook are used to preview certain documents, the document itself may contain remote image, font, or template references. Such behavior is determined by the system component or the document content and does not mean that Proviewer uploads your files.
Permissions
Proviewer receives files that you explicitly select through the system file picker, the system share extension, or document opening entry points. The app does not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, health data, or precise location.
Third-Party SDKs and Analytics
Proviewer currently does not integrate advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or third-party crash reporting SDKs. The app does not perform advertising tracking.
Deleting Data
You can delete imported files and related records from the recent files list in Proviewer. You can also remove data stored in the app sandbox by deleting the app from your device.
Children's Privacy
Proviewer is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date and related description on this page.
